What is Tapestry?
At the school we use an online learning journal called Tapestry for our Early Years children, we do this as part of our public task as a school. For this system we take images (photographs and video) of your child and their experiences within the school. These images are to track the progress of your child, and to make assessments.

We hope you are enjoy the insight Tapestry gives you to your child’s time at nursery, and please do add your own observations and photos from home – we love to celebrate your child’s achievements no matter where they happen. If you are new to the nursery then you will shortly receive an email containing information on how to access your child’s online learning journey on Tapestry.
As children play together in either large groups or with a few children, this can give good examples of learning and development, which we want to capture. However, this could mean that your child’s image could be used for another child’s journal i.e. where two children are playing together it could be used on both children’s journals.
You, as a parent/guardian can have online access to this via a secure account. You will be able to view the journal including these images via this account. The journal remains property of the school and therefore you are not allowed to share the images that are on your child’s journal, especially on social media or other online platforms. Where we find that any images have been used outside of the Tapestry system, we will take appropriate action, including withdrawing a parent’s access.
Tapestry can be accessed on most smart phones if you download the app. You can then easily access your child’s learning journey by entering a 4 digit pin.
